Deccan Chargers are the DLF IPL 2009 CHAMPIONS

The DLF Indian Premier League a Twenty20 Cricket competition, formed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and approved by International Cricket Council (ICC) has been a runaway hit in its Season 2 played in South Africa. The IPL included eight domestic teams of India representing the following cities- Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Jaipur, Chennai, Chandigarh and Hyderabad. Participation of foreign players in these domestic Indian teams has been one of the striking features of the IPL. The IPL Season 2 started in South Africa with a dazzling opening ceremony on 18th April and ended with the Final played in Johannesburg on May 24th between Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Deccan Chargers managed to turn the tables upside down, proved all the cricketing pundits wrong who did write them off considering their last year's performace and emerged as the winners of the DLF IPL 2009.
